Recently I spent a week relaxing in freezing South Beach. I try to visit the best vintage stores in each city I travel to and my fabulous Twitter friend, @EllaNista told me about C.Madeleine’s in north Miami. Apart from the vintage in Paris, they have the most incredible collection of designer vintage I’ve ever seen and it’s super organized – by decade. I was in awe. The Vera Wang tulle gown, Emperio Armani suits, Christian Lacroix couture – I wanted everything in sight. My budget was tight but I managed to snag an amazing a YSL full skirt. Their selection is not limited to clothes. They also have designer shoes, bags, glasses and any other accessory a girl could want.
The staff was incredibly friendly and one of the assistants, LeWeldon is a graduate of fashion design and also works for Marni. I’m interviewing him about his stylish life & career – look for it soon! Apparently the owner, Madeleine is from the Miami area and travels to New York City often. I asked where all of their wonderful clothes came from and I found out they’re all consignment! They said due to the hard economic times right now, women are bringing clothes in they never thought in a million years they would sell.
If you can’t make it to Miami, C.Madeleine’s has an online store. Their selection on the site isn’t nearly as large as the store but it’s still amazing. Put this one on your must-see list if you are ever in the Miami area – it’s worth the trip!
