Style Ideas, Tips & Trends from the Most Fashionable Cities

This year I’ve traveled to many major cities and I’m constantly observing the trends and styles. This year Forbes released a list of the world’s most stylish cities:

Top Ten:

1.Paris (Surprise, surprise!)   6.Los Angeles

2.Milan                                   7.Toyko

3.New York                            8.Madrid

4.London                               9.San Francisco

5.Rome                                 10.Barcelona

Around the globe, each city has their own unique style & fashions. Here are some of my favorite style ideas, tips & trends learned from some of the most fashionable cities:

New York

New Yorkers combine edgy basics with classic colors that create urban sex appeal. Their style can’t help but exude confidence and power.

Paris

Parisians have a simple and classic look that is almost indescribable. They truly understand the Chanel mantra, “less is more”. Their style is perfectly balanced & they know it. I will never forget walking down Boulevard St. Germain & watching a Parisian stop to look at her own reflection in a store window. At first I thought she was incredibly conceited and then I realized how wonderful the French culture is.

Austin

Austinites have a very cool, relaxed and vintage-hip style. I fell in love with the amount of eclectic and unique clothes available in stores scattered throughout the city.

San Francisco

San Franciscans have made a splash by combining a conglomeration of vintage & metro. The SF Style blog says that right now there is a “uniform” look across the city which includes heeled boots, bright paisley prints, oversized leather totes and owl necklaces.

Miami

I was just in Miami & think I saw one scarf, worn only for aesthetic purposes. I was a little surprise because I thought even though there is only one season on South Beach, I thought fashionistas would embrace the fall and winter months for a chance to wear different clothing themes ( ex: darker colors, leggings). However, they embrace their tube tops all year long.

Visiting these cities & observing the cultural differences has become a major influence on my style. I love combining different trends from all over to make a collective killer wardrobe.
